The Outpost Safe Stay Community

Safe Stay Communities are temporary housing communities offering residents greater access to services, increased stability, and safe, healthy, and humane living conditions to support transitioning out of homelessness. The Outpost Safe Stay Community has 20 two-person structures that offer safe shelter for up to 40 residents. Outsiders Inn provides 24/7 onsite management and supportive services.

Outsiders Inn now operates two supportive Safe Stay Communities for people experiencing unsheltered homelessness. The Outpost, our first location, opened in December 2021, located at 11400 N.E. 51st Circle on city-owned right of way along an undeveloped cul-de-sac in the North Image neighborhood.

The Outpost uses modular pallet shelters instead of tents, that offer our resident guests a safer and more stabilizing shelter as they work to resolve their homelessness. The Outpost space has lighting, security cameras, and is fenced and staffed 24/7. There are trash receptacles, sanitation services, portable toilets and showers, meeting and office space, and access to supportive services provided by local agencies.
