Satellite Overflow Shelter (SOS) Partnership

Be Part of the Solution!

YOU can be a part of life-saving shelter options for people without homes in Clark County, WA, between November and March.

The Satellite Overflow Shelters (SOS) extend the winter shelter capacity and are open every night during the winter. They accept all genders, couples and a limited number of well-behaved pets.  They are staffed by Outsiders Inn AND supported by volunteers during evening and morning shifts and for making, bringing and serving the evening meals to locations.

Outsiders Inn is assisting with the requirement that all volunteers submit a volunteer application and pass a background check prior to volunteering. If you are interested in being an on-call volunteer, please fill out the application below for a background check. We will then run the background check and pass your information along to the shelter location you have expressed interest in on the form.

All MealTrain Community Cook volunteers are requested to complete the Washington State Food Worker Course. Outsiders Inn will cover the cost of the course. Please send an email to waystohelp@outsidersinn.org for the payment code.

*Please note that submitting your application is not an automatic commitment to respond to volunteer call-outs. We would prefer you only respond to a call-out if you are able to safely travel to and from the assignment location, especially during times of ice or snow.

The Satellite Overflow Shelter (SOS) operates every night from November through March.
