Are you a certified peer support specialist and/or trained and certified in any of these other areas?

Trauma informed care,  recovery coaching,  domestic violence,  crisis intervention,  community health work

Are you ready and excited:

  • To provide community, encouragement, and hope to Vancouver’s most vulnerable citizens.
  • To use a person first, strength-based approach.
  • To encourage self determination.
  • To empower community members.
  • To advocate for members of the community and teach the community about advocating for themselves.

We have upcoming volunteer opportunities with a new and upcoming temporary emergency community for displaced individuals. This will provide shelter and community to approximately 50 of Clark County's most vulnerable population. This new community will be using a low-barrier harm reduction model. In addition we will be relying on volunteers in a large way. It is very important to me that we bring peer support to the traditional shelter system, once again proving the effectiveness of peer support. We are looking for volunteers that want to bring hope and change lives.  All volunteers will be vetted and screened and interviewed.

* There will also be a need for volunteers for various other positions that will be supportive and/or administrative in nature over being in direct contact with community residents that will not require certification or background checks.
